We discovered this beautiful place and decided to take Elisha there. It’s a gorgeous and relaxing park. The only place I know that allows you to feed the ducks. E. Manchester Boddy, publisher of the Los Angeles Daily News, purchased this 160 acres land in 1937. He built an elegant two-story mansion of 22 rooms, designed by architect J. E. Dolena of Beverly Hills. This mansion overlooks 25 acres of live oak forest and a camellia-lined driveway. He named his estate “Rancho del Descanso,” which means “rest” or “repose” in Spanish. He also purchased an additional 440 acres north of the original property, whose mountain streams provide fresh spring water for the Gardens today.

The Mommy & Me class that I go to weekly at the Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital organised a Halloween party for the babies. It was so fun to see all the babies dressed up in different costumes. We took lots of pictures of everyone and then we proceeded to the rehab center to cheer the patients up.

Some of you know my fondness for tea. My favorite is Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime - an herbal blend of chamomile and mint. Doctors tell us today that stress is the main cause of serious illness. So, a little relaxation doesn’t hurt. Anyway, Celestial Seasonings always has a story on every box, so I thought I’d share this with some of you who could use some rest.
On Napping
David Jacoby“When we were young, the ‘tall’ ones told us when to slow down.
When the demands of the world became too great, their powers
of reasoning proved maddeningly accurate. ‘I think someone’s tired,
they observed. And off for a nap we went. Ten minutes later, our dreaming
faces had put us back in good favor with our exasperated parents. When we
woke, the world somehow made sense again. What kind of truth might a
napping child impart to us? Now we are the tall ones, living in a complicated
world with no one to tell us when to slow down. The slumbering little one knows
the value of not having the last word, of accepting a minor defeat. It’s so simple.
Miss out on something. Put yourself back in your own good favor.
The world will wait.”

I could not resist putting this video up as the little girl reciting Psalm 23 is so adorable. This video is taken off GodTube, a Christian version of YouTube.
GodTube was the #1 fastest growing website in the US for the month of August. It broadcasts over 800,000 hours of user-generated video and attracts millions of unique visitors a month. Check out the website. It’s really neat!

Elisha loves his piano and is so proud when he stands up on his own. Our little athlete surprised us by starting to walk around the piano at just 6 and a 1/2 months old!
